Getting home after a concert in Korea: a return-trip worksheet
Build a realistic route from the venue exit to your hotel, with last-train checks, transfer time and a backup plan.

Work backwards from the final useful departure
The last train at the station next to the venue may not connect to the last train you need later. Check the full route for your travel date, direction and final destination using the operator’s timetable. Save the result and the date you checked it.
For each leg, record the boarding station, departure, arrival, transfer walk and last useful connecting service. A route is only workable when every connection fits. Our travel tool calculates from the times you enter; it does not supply a live timetable.
The show ending is not the station arrival time
Start with your own estimated finish, then add exit queues, walking, collection of stored bags and platform access. Keep the estimate visible as an assumption. An advertised runtime is not a promise about the encore or when you will leave the grounds.
Example only: if you assume a 21:30 finish, 25 minutes to exit and 20 minutes to reach the platform, you are planning around 22:15, not 21:30. Compare that with the actual timetable; these example times are not venue-specific advice.
Choose the fallback before entering the venue
Decide what you will do if the show ends late or the station is too crowded: a different verified route, an overnight stay, or a taxi budget you can afford. Save your accommodation address in Korean and agree on a meeting point if travelling with friends.
Do not rely on a fixed taxi quote or a guaranteed immediate pickup. Check the provider’s current availability and use a legal, clearly identified service. A nearby main road or alternate station is only useful if the route is safe and suitable for you.
Avoid a tight airport connection
Work backwards from your airline’s check-in and bag-drop requirements, allowing for the terminal and airport transport. Do not treat a map’s best-case driving time as a reliable post-concert transfer.
If the plan only works when the encore ends exactly on time and every connection is immediate, compare a later flight or an overnight stay. Keep the cost of that decision in the trip budget.
